Tata Tiago EV with 315km range is now available in India, with prices starting at Rs 8.49 lakh.
The Tata Tiago EV has a range of 315 km and can accelerate from 0 to 60 km per hour in less than 6 seconds.
Tata Tiago EV, the latest electric vehicle from Tata Motors, has finally made its debut in India. The Tiago hatchback's electric version has been launched at a competitive price, with the base model costing Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). With this introductory price, Tata Motors' new Tiago EV is the most affordable electric vehicle it has ever produced.
The excitement surrounding the Tiago EV's launch had been building for months, owing primarily to the vehicle's low price point in comparison to most other EVs on the market in India. The Tiago EV, which sits below the Tigor EV, is Tata Motors' attempt to make electric vehicles more accessible to Indian buyers. On Word EV Day, September 9, the company addressed speculation about its launch date for the first time. Now that the big day has arrived, we have official information on everything we need to know about the new Tiago EV.
Tata Motors, for example, will sell the Tiago EV in four trim levels. These trims will have additional options based on the battery pack selected by the buyer. The most premium variant of the Tiago EV will start at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and will go up to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers will also be able to select one of five colour options for the electric vehicle.
In terms of the Tiago EV's highlights, Tata Motors claims that the new electric hatchback can travel 315 kilometres on a single charge and accelerate from 0 to 60 kilometres per hour in 5.7 seconds. Cruise control, automatic headlamps, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, and rain-sensing wipers are among the notable features of the EV.
Here are all the other details about the Tiago EV that you should be aware of.
Tata Tiago EV Price and Bookings
As previously stated, the Tiago EV is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model. This makes the electric car roughly Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the petrol Tiago. As with most other EVs on the market in India, the difference is not significant. This contributes to the Tiago EV being the most affordable electric vehicle in India right now.
The new Tiago EV is available in four trim levels: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux. The XE has a single trim, whereas the XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux each have two options based on battery and charging capacity. Here is a price list for each variant.
|Tata Tiago EV Variants and Price List|
|XE||19.2kWh||3.3kW AC||Rs 8.49 lakh|
|XT||19.2kWh||3.3kW AC||Rs 9.09 lakh|
|XT||24kWh||3.3kW AC||Rs 9.99 lakh|

Please keep in mind that these are introductory prices for the Tiago EV and will only be available to the first 10,000 customers. A total of 2,000 of these vehicles will be reserved for existing Nexon EV customers. Once this batch of Tiago EVs is gone, Tata Motors will almost certainly raise the price.
The Tata Tiago EV hatchback will go on sale on October 10. The company has stated that deliveries will begin in January of next year.
Tata Tiago EV Range and Performance
The Tiago EV is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, thanks to Tata Motors' Ziptron EV architecture. The motor has a peak power of 74hp and a peak torque of 114Nm. The Tiago EV can accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 5.7 seconds as a result of this.
The Tiago EV is powered by two lithium-ion battery packs: a 19.2kWh battery with an estimated MIDC range of 250km and a step-up 24kWh battery with a range of 315km. Similarly, there are two charging capacity options for these batteries: 3.3kWh and 7.2kWh. The latter can charge the car's battery from 0% to 80% in just 57 minutes.
The Tiago EV's battery pack and electric motor are both dust and water-resistant, with an IP67 rating. Tata also provides an 8-year (or 1,60,000-kilometer) warranty on the battery and motor.
Tata Tiago EV Features
The Tiago EV looks very similar to the ICE version, with the exception of some blue accents around the body that help distinguish it as an electric vehicle. Y-shaped badges across the front grille, a new wheel cap design, body colour door handles with black inserts, leatherette steering wheel and seats, a rotary dial in place of the gear lever, and a dual tone colour theme are some other design elements exclusive to the Tiago EV.
Push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera, multi-mode regen braking, and cruise control are all standards on the Tiago EV.
