According to the leaked teaser, the first major Galaxy Unpacked event for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will take place on February 1, 2023. It corresponds to some of the previous rumours. The images also confirm the S23 series' new camera ring cutout design.
The company has yet to send out official media invitations, but we can expect them soon to confirm the launch date. The South Korean conglomerate's flagship Android smartphones for 2023 will consist of three models. With its ultra-premium hardware, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be at the top of the lineup.
Details about the phones have previously leaked. The official high-resolution design renders of the phones were recently leaked, revealing the four colour options. The Galaxy S23 will be available in four different colours: Phantom Black, Cotton Flower, Misty Lilac, and Botanic Green are some of the colours available.
Aside from the colours, the phones are said to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The selfie camera will also become widespread. The Galaxy S23 series will have a 12MP camera. All three phones will come pre-installed with Android 13 and a layer of One UI 5.0 on top.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. It will have a QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will be the only phone in the lineup with a curved display. The top of the screen will have a hole-punch cutout for the front camera.
The display on the S23 Ultra is also said to be brighter than the iPhone 14 Pro series at 2200 nits. In addition, the phone will get a new 200MP main camera. A 12MP ultrawide camera and two 10MP telephoto shooters with 3x and 10x optical zoom will round out the quad-camera setup. The device will have a 5000mAh battery and support for at least 15W wireless charging and 25W fast charging. In case you were wondering, there will be no charger included in the box.
The camera setup on the Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 will be shared. On the back, there will be three cameras. According to reports, the phones will have a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The display on the S23 5G will be 6.1 inches with a Full HD+ resolution. The AMOLED display will have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen will remain flat, with a hole punched cutout in the top centre. The device also has a 3900mAh battery and supports 25W wired fast charging as well as 15W wireless charging.
The Galaxy S23 Plus 5G will have the same display features as the Galaxy S23, but with a larger 6.6-inch panel. The larger form factor also allows for a larger battery. The S23 Plus is expected to have a 4700mAh battery. It will, like the other two models, support 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
The devices are expected to arrive in India soon. It would not be surprising if the phones are made available in India in February. We will await official confirmation on the matter.
