Who is Puss in Boots?
Puss in Boots was a long-running character in the Shrek universe. Puss in Boots practically stole the show in the 2004 sequel, Shrek 2, with his top personality and cuteness! The character quickly became a fan favorite among the cast, and he joined Shrek and Donkey on their adventures in Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third, as well as making an appearance in Shrek Forever After.
Because of his popularity, the character received a spinoff film in 2011, in which we learn about his dark past and previous friendship with Humpty Dumpty. In 2012, he returned for the direct-to-DVD short film Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos, which was released as a bonus feature on the Puss in Boots DVD. But the cat wasn't finished yet! The character was revived in 2015 in The Adventures of Puss in Boots, an original Netflix series that lasted 77 episodes!
The sequel has been in the works since 2012 when director Chris Miller stated that he would love to return to work with the characters again. However, due to a variety of factors, including corporate changes, rewrites, and pushbacks, the film was repeatedly caught in the crossfire. The Croods: A New Age is now directed by Joel Crawford and Mark Swift, who previously directed The Croods: A New Age.
Dreamworks is clearly not done with this endearing hero, and who can blame them? It's not only simple but also entertaining to see what kinds of mischief he can get himself into! According to the trailer, this will have the same amount of charisma and fun that we've come to expect from the famous feline hero!
