OPPO Reno9 Series Battery Specifications
The OPPO Reno9 series is said to have the same 4500mAh battery as other OPPO smartphones launched in 2022 and earlier. The company has been releasing phones that support up to 80W fast charging. OPPO's SUPERVOOC charging technology recharges the battery from 0% to 100% in about 35 minutes. The charging technology ensures that the battery's health does not deteriorate and that no unexpected problems arise in the long run.
The Reno9 series of phones may be launched with Universal Fast Charging Specifications standards.
What is Universal Fast Charging Standard?
The charging standard, known as UFCS, is a new method of producing accessories that support multiple devices from various brands. The China Communications Standards Association also issued the first batch of 11 fast charging certifications, which members of the consortium reportedly passed.
The new standard aims to promote five major aspects of charging technology. These include improving fast charging solutions and broadening its support for a wide range of applications, promoting singular universal standards that will be applicable on an industrial scale, and encouraging more businesses to adopt unified charging standards.
In addition, the China Communications Standards Association wishes to promote UFSC as a global charging standard.
Oppo A17, Oppo A17K, and Oppo A77s will be Available...
According to Digital Chat Station, OPPO has joined the UFCS consortium and will most likely use the standard in its upcoming Reno9 series. The phones will most likely be released with 40W charging support. In comparison, the charging speed will be significantly slower than OPPO's 65W SuperVOOC charging technology and less than half of the Reno8's 80W SuperVOOC fast charging technology.
The UFCS consortium includes Xiaomi and Huawei. With the addition of OPPO to the group, it appears that the upcoming smartphones from these respective brands will support a standard fast charging rate. It aims to solve compatibility issues with fast charging technologies that differ between brands.
For example, OPPO's SuperVOOC charging technology can charge a 4500mAh battery from 0% to 100% in approximately 35 minutes. However, the same charger may charge a Xiaomi or Huawei phone with the same battery capacity much more slowly. The same could be said of Xiaomi's HyperCharge fast charging technology or any other proprietary standard currently in use.

While the current UFCS standard is limited to 40W charging, it is expected to be increased to 65W in the near future.
Returning to the Reno9 series, Digital Chat Station revealed that the phones will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7-series and MediaTek's Dimensity 8-series SoCs. This is the same as the Reno8 series, which was released in China with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC.
We don't expect many changes in other areas because OPPO has played it safe by releasing the Reno phones with incremental upgrades over their predecessors. The exact launch date of the Reno9 series is currently unknown.
