Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 Graphics Cards Announced: DLSS 3 and AI-Powered Frame Generation
The new GPUs will set players back a pretty penny.
NVIDIA has just unveiled the massively powerful GEFORCE RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 graphics cards, which will be available on October 12. The RTX 4090 will reportedly cost Rs 1,77,000 in India, while the RTX 4080 will cost Rs 99,500 for the 12 GB variant and Rs 1,33,000 for the 16 GB variant.
The RTX 4090 and 4080 will both be powered by the Lovelace architecture and will aim to deliver massive gains over the RTX 30 series. NVIDIA has made bold claims that the new series of graphics cards, such as these, are twice as powerful as the previous flagship GPU.
This is fantastic news for PC enthusiasts looking to upgrade, but the price alone should be cause for concern.
Portal RTX Remake and RTX-Remix were featured in the NVIDIA RTX GTC Keynote.
NVIDIA demonstrated the new GPUs in action with games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and the recently announced Portal RTX remake. Portal RTX is an updated remake of the 2007 classic that also supports ray tracing. NVIDIA has previously made remakes with RTX support for games, but the announcement of a new tool for modders and gamers was completely unprecedented.
RTX Remix will be free to download, allowing players to retool and create their own RTX-enhanced games. This is significant news because it could be a boon to the modding community, but it will be interesting to see whether NVIDIA will allow players to add RTX support to existing games or not. If NVIDIA decides to allow players to use the tool in modding, it will be a huge step forward for the modding community.
At the moment, the RTX 40 series lineup includes three GPUs, with the RTX 4090 serving as the flagship model, offering high-quality performance via DLSS 3 and 24GB GDDR6X memory. The other two will be RTX 4080 variants with either 16GB or 12GB of GDDR6X memory.
