BYD has surpassed Tesla to become the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer. Despite the strong business activity in battery technology in India, BYD is just getting started in the country with its first phase of electric vehicles. The Chinese EV manufacturer has debuted its first BYD E6 electric MPV for private buyers in India, and the company is now preparing to launch the BYD Atto 3 as the first fully electric vehicle.

The BYD Atto 3 is expected to arrive in India during the upcoming festive season, having previously been scheduled to debut at the Auto Expo 2023. The Atto 3 could be manufactured at BYD's plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, and will follow an SKD (semi-knocked down) assembly route in India. Nonetheless, Warren Buffet's BYD has already officially launched the Atto 3 electric in a number of global markets, and here are the specifics of the BYD Atto 3 in India.
